Heat Warning For Cincinnati, Heat Advisory For Rest Of Tri-State

CINCINNATI - The heat will certainly be on the Tri-State this week. The National Weather Service has issued a heat warning for metro Cincinnati and a heat advisory for the rest of the Tri-State through Wednesday.

High temperatures in the mid 90s along with humid conditions will result in heat index values between 100 and 105 Monday and Tuesday in Cincinnati.

An excessive heat warning means that a prolonged period of dangerously hot temperatures will occur, while a heat advisory is issued when high humidities are expected to combine with hot temperatures to make it feel like it is 100 degrees or greater.

The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a dangerous situation in which heat illnesses are likely.

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Cincinnati Recreation Centers are open during regular hours as ?cool centers? for individuals and families in need.

Fluids are a must and try not to stay out in this for too long without some kind of break.

Do whatcha gotta do to stay [img]cool.gif[/img] because [img]cool.gif[/img] is a state of being a state of mind and on days like today it's more the the only way to be!

Every time we have a heat alert I wonder how we old folks survived our childhoods.

I grew up without AC, and there was only one fan in the house. Summers were hot. Huh.

Did they just yell really loud hoping the person they were trying to contact would hear?

Is it possible that they had really really really long phone cords so they could take their home phones everywhere?!?!?

HOW DID THEY SURVIVE THOSE HORRID DAYS!!?!?!?!?
